Held annually from December 10th to 15th, MSW brings together a diverse group of stakeholders, including individuals, platform providers, creators, educators, policymakers, organizations, and institutions. The primary goal of the MSW campaign is to educate and raise awareness about the importance of building safe experiences and promoting responsible behavior within the Metaverse. Another goal is to encourage the development of policy, best practices, and guidelines for safeguarding the Metaverse. The MSW campaign can achieve this through a range of activities and events, such as webinars, educational resources, virtual events, and social media campaigns.
Since its inception in 2019, MSW has convened thought leaders from the White House, United Nations, UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), Australian eSafety Office, U.S. Congress, Fortune 100 CISOs, Big Tech executives, UNESCO, UNDP, ITU, UNICEF, OECD, global innovators, and civil society across the globe. Each year, MSW serves as a trusted forum to tackle the most urgent challenges in tech governance, privacy, and human-centered innovation.
